This website is dedicated to my late grandmother, Helen Jean Peters. But to me and my family members she was referred to as Momma Helen or Muh. Momma Helen has made such an impact in my life that I thought that I would at least try to repay her with a tribute, this is only the beginning…….. Helen Jean Peters was born June 5, 1942 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Otha Foster Sr. Helen was the oldest of ten siblings, Dorothy, Elaine, Edgie, Charles, Odessa, Carolyn, Beverly, Brenda, and Otha Jr. Momma Helen was raised in the church. During her 62 years of life, Momma Helen attended New Zion Missionary Baptist Church faithfully. While attending New Zion, Momma Helen was a Sunday School teacher, a Senior Choir member, a member of the Senior mission, along with other numerous groups of the church. Momma Helen worked as a teacher’s aide at Varnado Elementary School, in Varnado, LA for over twenty years. Although she worked full time Momma Helen still made time for her family. She was a wife, a mother, grandmother, great– grandmother and above all a great person. |
